What do you want to know?: Running an Etsy Shop

I’ve had my Etsy shop open for over a year and a half now. I may not have the answer to all your questions, but I feel confident that if I don’t know something I’ll have a good idea of where to find it.

So, what do you want to know about running an Etsy shop? Ask away!

  1. Well…Here I am :)And here is my shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5003866I opened it in late 2006 but I started working seriously on it only this year. What do you think about my prices and products?Any suggestion and severe critique will be warmly welcome :)Ale*

  2. Hi Ale,Wow! I love your artwork, and I love how you incorporate it into jewelry as well as offering prints. I think that kind of variety really helps to reach more potential customers.Pricing is always a hard one for me to evaluate, but your prices look reasonable to me. You might try one of the pricing calculators suggested in the Etsy forums to get a better idea of how to price your items. Here's a good one: http://chris-parry.blogspot.com/2007/12/free-spreadsheet-for-pricing-your-work.htmlIt looks like you've got all the basics down. To be honest, I feel like I'm searching you shop for something that needs improving and not finding anything! At this point, I think your best bet is to promote as much as possible. I advertise using Project Wonderful. AdWords is another good one, although I haven't tried it personally. If you have any more questions, ask away!
